Do You Have a Map?
For the self-employed, self-generator, entrepeneur and driven individual or group, it’s critical to be organized. TOO many are stuck with low results and a shotgun approach to business. Trying to appeal to everyone and anyone in the hopes of attracting whatever comes your way. Can you imagine building a home that way?
The ‘Sniper’ approach focuses on specific targets. For the individual or small group, this methodoly is a decidedly more effective. To build QUALITY relationships you need to understand WHO your target market is and look for “Win-Win” mindsets. With consistent, transparent communciation you can build your team.
BUILD YOUR MAP
Having a Monthly Action Plan will minimally help you to:
- Come from certainty and give you confidence as you navigate the business world around you
- Better understand your business relationships based on results rather than speculation
- Use your time more effectively
GETTING STARTED
You don’t need to be a cartographer to visualize your END goal. Be clear on WHAT you want to achieve and write down:
- End Goals
- Milestones along the way by quarter, month or week
Create your TASK list…This is your TO DO’s weekly and monthly. IDENTIFY WHO you need to be talking to. I recommend creating a TOP 30 desired professionals and what your actions will be to build with them.
Risk and Accountability
Nobody ever got great playing it safe. Be FEARLESS! You HAVE to take chances and be prepared to take some losses along the way. When you take risks, you take OWNERSHIP of your results and time.
HOLD yourself accountable by having partners(From your Top 30) so you can stay on track. Whe n you prove to others you are accountable, you build a reputation of character. If you’re unreliable, you will struggle to build trustworthy relationships. You are responsible for building your brand.
The Baseball Analogy
NOBODY should expect you to be perfect. In baseball, a .300 batting average is considered excpetional. This means a pro player is NOT having success at the plate 7 out of 10 appearances. You will struggle daily, weekly, yearly BUT embrace the wins and learn from the lossess.
Get To The Plate
Want more production and better results, you need to fail more often. You’re looking for multiple opportunities and those come from your top 30 on your map. You need partners that will get you opportunites AND you can help by giving opportunities to your partners. This is HOW you build synergy.
In my last newsletter (4th Quarter) I introduced a methodology for grading out contacts. DO this monthly and realign your MAP so you can build momentum. Embrace change, new contacts and pursue your goals relentlessly. If your cause is just, and your heart pure you can achieve your goals.
